Wild Animal Rescue wins RTS Award

Lindsey is thrilled that her original concept commission 'Wild Animal Rescue' for Channel 5 has won __Best Feature__ at the Royal Television Society Awards in Yorkshire.

“The judges felt __this programme was exemplary__. The contributors shared their passion and knowledge in the show with wonderful stories that were compelling and engaging; combined with great wildlife footage which was a delight to watch. But it also did more than just entertain. __Its messages about the challenges facing nature and the wild came through really strongly, clearly and directly__, showing the impact of shrinking wildlife. __A really complete piece of broadcasting__.” RTS Yorkshire Judging Panel.

"With a quarter of native UK mammals at imminent risk of extinction," said Lindsey, "it's more important than ever to highlight not only the huge challenges faced by the wildlife on our doorstep but also what can be done, if we act for nature now. Putting people at the heart of this programme idea was absoutely key for me. An emotional connection to the world around us is what will make a difference and I'm delighted that the commitment and enthusiasm of the people involved with 'Wild' shone through.
